Just Another Choice

I changed the appearance of my blog just for kicks. I've been sitting on these new detailed images of my most recent work out of my last soda firing and I really wanted to show them. The blog template gives you infinite choices that cause one to spend endless minutes clicking away choosing between which color you might want for the title of the post and which color of font you might want for the color of your links. Choices, choices, too many choices. I often think of how spoiled we are when I am confronted with so many options that we take for granted in our hectic lives. Just take our grocery stores, for example and notice how many different types of salad dressings we might need and how many shapes of noodles there are to select from. Do we really need that many styles? Do we really need that double latte with soy milk and an extra shot of vanilla, no...make that hazelnut? I certainly appreciate these options, but not when I know that there others that don't have these options and also when I know that so much food goes to waste that could go to feed hungry mouths. It's odd that by changing my blog has caused my thoughts to drift to this subject, but sometimes it's good to get out of your own self and the bubble we live in and become aware of the other things and people in the world that would give anything to have even the simplest of choices and comfortable options to get through their daily lives. I feel so fortunate that I can choose this way of a creative life, even if it is spending time changing font sizes on the computer!

Love the new look. I don't know when you find time with all the shows you're doing right now. You are an inspiration.
I agree we have too many choices. A total stranger & I had this discussion in the drugstore yesterday trying to choose lip balm! It's nuts - and the cereal aisle at the grocery store makes me crazy!
